Huskies Season Wrap-Up

The Owatonna Boys Track & Field Team wrapped up their season with the BIg 9, Section 1AA and the MSHSL State Meets.

At the Big 9 Conference Meet, the boys finished in 6th place. Leading the way was the Big 9 Champion 4x400m relay team (Alex Raichle, Zach Barrett, Keanon Young and Brandon Schmidt) with a time of 3:30.9. Dalton Kubista grabbed All Conference honors in the Triple Jump with a 2nd Place jump of 42' 11".  The 4x200m Relay Team (Raichle, Schmidt, Kubista and Jason Williamson) also finished 2nd with a time of 1:31.19. Andrew Jackson was 3rd in the 110m hurdles (15.76), as was Keanon Young in the 300m Hurdles (41.1)

The team finished in 6th place at the 2018 Section 1AA meet held at Lakeville South High School. Dalton Kubista led the way grabbing 2nd in the Triple Jump (44' 1.75"), and qualifying for the state meet once again. The 4x200m Relay Team (Alex Raichle, Kubista, Brandon Schmidt and Jason Williamson) also qualified for the state with a 2nd Place time of 1:31.08. 

Other top finishers for the Huskies included: Jason Williamson (8th place 200m), Alex Raichle (4th place 400m), Keenon Young (5th place 300m Hurdles), Raichle-Young-Zach Barrett-Schmidt (5th place 4x400m), Caeden McCartney-Logan Bauaer-Brett Ruiter-Fanta Omot (8th place 4x800m), Scott Kingland (5th place High Jump).

At MSHSL State Meet the 4x200m Relay team (Raichle, Kubista, Schmidt, Williamson) finished in 15th place with a time of 1:33.43. Dalton Kubista's return to the state meet in Triple Jump ended with a 13th place finish (40' 7.25"). Colten Kamholz's first trip to the state meet in Pole Vault saw him take 12th place (12' 6") in that event. Great job gentlemen!
